2. What do you do?

By day I am an instructional designer in Corporate America, that designs and develop e-learning documents and courses for sales professionals. On the side, I am instructional design freelancer/consultant for small businesses. As well as, the host of Gettin’ Fit podcast which is a podcast that discusses black fitness. The podcast focus on black health awareness, by learning from black fitness and health professionals.

3. What motivates you?

Knowing what my ancestors went through and accomplished, pushes me to strive. Learning from my past mistakes and being told that I wouldn’t be able to do certain things, kept me driven. I never was a dumb kid, nor was I the smartest kid in the classroom. Therefore, I have a point to prove! Not just to others, but to myself.

4. How do you balance between your career, side hustles, and your social life?

Luckily, my day job is flexible. Yes, I have to be in the office but the company is not strict on watching your every move. Therefore, I am able to get some of my side work done before going to work, during my lunch break, and of course after work. As far as my social life, I pretty much do not have one (lol), but that is by choice. I spend most of my time with my boyfriend working on business ideas and at the gym working out. I make time for other things, such as community service and traveling, by planning ahead.

5. What does Professional Homegirl means to you?

It means being a lady that carries a professional attitude at all times, but knows how to relax, laugh, and enjoy life all while building her empire.

6.What advice would you give to young women who want to pursue their dreams?

Whether if you have support or not, believe in yourself at all times and take action!
