Yasss to Kevyn Aucoin!
Earlier this week on my Facebook page I asked if anyone was looking for a new luminous yet matte foundation to try out. I got a couple side eye emojis in my comment section but that wasn’t enough for the kid. Afterwards, I posted a selfie confessing my newest foundation obsession without sharing the name of the brand only if I was to receive a couple of likes! To my surprise, so many girls were asking me all types of questions about my foundation and were demanding deets. One would only think that it would be appropriate to spread the love! I mean it is the holiday season!
Just in case you didn’t know I was an Operational Manager for a cosmetic store ( read here on how they thought my name was Harriet) located here in New York. I’m no makeup artist but I’m such a girly girl that I felt like a greedy ass kid in a candy store. My coworkers literally reference me as “The Foundation Queen” because I literally tried every foundation that we offer at my store and were giving recommendations to customers based on their concerns.
One day, I remember one of my coworkers face being beat to the gawds and I was like girl please tell me what’s on your face. I knew that we didn’t have it in our store and I was feening to find out what it was.
Before she could even say Kevyn Aucoin, everybody in the store was chiming in on how amazing this foundation is and how the finish is very beautiful. It’s very rare to find a foundation that looks very well on a variety of complexions and I was very impressed with his diversity of shades. I know I am not the only one who gets annoyed when a new foundation comes out with only two shades?!
I don’t know why I didn’t try Kevyn Aucoin foundation when they first told me, but I definitely decided to sample The Etherealist Foundation in Shade 14 while I was at Sephora the other night (read about my other obsession here).
Chile, this foundation is life! The cold air in New York is so harsh against my skin so this foundation not only leaves me matte, but it gives me a beautiful youthful luminous glow as well. This foundation is buildable and a little bit goes a long way. In addition, this foundation is a good fit for all skin types.
Now the only thing you probably might be a little hesitant on is the price ( it’s $58 dollars) but I’m telling you now, it is so worth it. Take it from me! I have foundations from Tom Ford, NARS, Giorgio Armani, Dior, Laura Mercier, etc. but this is my go to for a natural, hydrated matte finish and I literally can’t get enough of it. Plus, I can go cheap on a lot of things but my face aka "money maker" ain’t one of them. So don’t cheat yourself, treat yourself and thank me later!
