Meet Our Professional Homegirl of the Week: Courtney Callender
1. Social Handles (personal and business)
2. What do you do?
When I'm not running the operations of a $75 Million dollar process of a top Fortune 500 company (so generally speaking I am very busy with my '9-5' that is very very far from working the actual hours of '9-5'-lol!) I am building my brand of Eclectic Bella! Eclectic Bella is an online women's boutique based out of Downtown LA, for today's Fashion savvy woman that wants to stand out in the crowd in unique, quality pieces at affordable prices. And in the midst of both my career and Eclectic Bella, I blog as well!
3. What motivates you?
Having the ability to create the beautiful life I want. I know that sounds cheesy but it's what drives me when I'm running on E. We all literally are equipped with EXACTLY what we need to achieve any and everything our wildest dreams could imagine when it comes to what we want our lives to be. To be blessed with that opportunity motivates me each and every day. I cannot let that go to waste. I just can't.
4. How do you balance with your career, side hustles, and your social life?
Organization is the foundation of it all. I make a To Do list at the beginning of each week and break it down day by day in both my career, Eclectic Bella, and my blog. It helps me to stay focused and not forget anything. I truly love everything about chasing my dreams with Eclectic Bella so although the journey can be challenging at times, it's a journey I love to be on and never really need a break from because it just genuinely excites me!
My social life definitely takes a backseat to everything else. I'm a Happy Hour kinda girl so I'll meet up with my girls for Happy Hour or Sunday brunch or bar hop with the boo when I need a breath of fresh air. Also, I am a huge workout junkie, so hitting my local fitness studio five times a week helps me decompress A LOT and zone out.
5. What does Professional Homegirl mean to you?
Professional homegirl is honestly what I feel like my relationship with all of my girlfriends is. They're my homegirls who I can vent to, seek advice from, cry with, laugh, turn up with, but they're all also smart as hell, bomb ass women who I can talk business with at any given moment. It's an amazing dynamic to be able to have with your girlfriends. I'm truly blessed for my tribe.
6.What advice would you give to young women that want to pursue their dreams?
Be consistent and trust the process. Consistency is seriously everything. And I think what a lot of people don't emphasize when it comes to being consistent, is being consistent when you aren't seeing the results you want, being consistent throughout the valleys and not just the mountain peaks. Honestly, that's REALLY when being consistent counts the most. Plus, when you aren't consistent and "fall off", you literally are starting back over each and every time. Don't get me wrong, I definitely have to take "time off" from social media in order to preserve my best self, but you can still remain consistent through moments of self care.
Trusting the process as well. Things don't just happen over night. Always remember that social media is everyone's highlight reel. No one is going to post them struggling or going through their growing pains but we ALL go through them. So, trust your process, trust YOURSELF, and be confident in the magic that you are creating!
