My First Time Wearing Foundation From The Drugstore!
I don't know about you but lately, I've been seeing everybody and their mama talking about how amazing Covergirl's TruBlend Matte Made Liquid Foundation is and I wanted to find out for myself. Now I must admit, I was a little skeptical about wearing foundation from the drugstore because I didn't want my face to be on the floor at the end of the day. Plus, at most drug stores, you can't even swatch to see what color you are which is annoying. Sephora has definitely spoiled us with being able to try and test products out before purchase. Thankfully, I've been wearing makeup for a very long time so I was able to see which color matches best my complexion. And I was able to sneak here and there and open up a few bottles just to see if the foundation was really my color. Oh please don't act like you don't do the same sis.
I decided to wear my TruBlend Matte Made Foundation in Shade Toasted Almond on a day where it literally felt like the sun was walking right beside me. That's how hot it was. Fortunately, I got a sample of Urban Decay DeSlick Primer from Sephora and decided to wear this under my Covergirl's foundation. I can't stress the importance of wearing a good primer under your foundation. Wearing a primer under your foundation will it help it last longer. I'm so buying this Urban Decay one but that's another story.
I'm not going to lie, the entire day while at work, I kept checking my face to see how well it was holding up. I can honestly say that throughout the entire day and I was running around like crazy, my face looked pretty good. Chile the whole time I was thinking damn I'm overspending my coint on expensive foundations when I go to my local drugstore and get some foundation for twelve dollars?! Chile what is life lol. I really can't get over how good this foundation looked after a nine-hour shift.
I decided to wear this foundation again on date night and even Bae was impressed on how nice it looks. For this look in the picture I used the following products:
Foundation: Covergirl's TruBlend Matte Made Liquid Foundation in Shade Toasted Almond
Primer- Urban Decay Deslick Primer
Eyebrows: Laura Mercer's Secret Camouflage in Shade 6 and Milani's Stay Put Brow Color
Contour: Anastasia's Cool Earth Stick Foundation
Concealer: LA Girl Pro Concealer in Shade Warm Honey and Bobbi Brown's Tinted Eye Brightener in Dark Peach 9
Under Eye Setting Powder: Ben Nye Banana Powder and Laura Mercier's Star Dust Setting Powder
Highlighter: Giella's Eye M Glam Mineral Highlighter
Blush: Tom Ford (I can't remember the name)
Lip Gloss: Buxom in Shade Dolly
Setting Spray: Urban Decay All Nighter
Overall, I will definitely be wearing this foundation throughout the summer. I think I wanna try more cosmetics from the drugstore but I need your help! What are some of your favorite products from your local drugstore and why?
