Sometimes Change is Good
If you didn't notice, I recently decided to rebrand myself and with that being said I deleted everything from all of my social media accounts. Why? Well, for starters, I am no longer the same girl I used to be when I first started The Professional Homegirl let alone on Instagram. Plus, I wanted some structure on all of my IG handles. I am all about making things circle back to my main objective which is The Professional Homegirl and none of that was happening. I am one person who is afraid of change however I must admit that change can sometimes be good for you. And in this case, it was worth it.
If you weren't following me before I deleted everything from @theprofessionalhomegirl page, I was doing a light pink color block scheme with different pictures in between. At first, I was so in love with the overall aesthetic of my page but months later, I was like eh I'm over this shit. I started to realize that I am no longer the same person I was when I first began to blog and I wanted the @theprofessionalhomegirl page to be a reflection of who I am now. Granted I am obsessed with the color pink, but I would like to think I'm way more eccentric than just one color. Instagram is a free marketing tool and you never know who will see your page so it is always best to post pictures that are a reflection of who you are and what you do.
Now that I'm posting more pictures that reflect who I am today, the responses I've been receiving have been so good. In additions, I am loving the variety of colors too and not just one. If you are going back and forth with wanting to start over, ask yourself these three questions:
1. Does your page reflect who are today?
2. Does your page circles back to your main objective? For example, will people know what you do off of the content you post? Is everything in full circle?
3. Are you happy with your page or are you content?
If the answer is no to all three questions, sis it is time for you to start over. Also, find someone's page that you admire and study how they are branding themselves. I am constantly studying some of my favorite people on Instagram and taking bits & pieces from them and making it into my own. Even one of my favorite people liked my page too. That was definitely confirmation from the universe that the kid is on the right path.
I can't wait to show yall what I have in store and the more I think about it, the more I fall in love with The Professional Homegirl and New York City.
BTW, I've been doing consultations with my clients about rebranding and I can't wait to show you their new sites. Click here to read more about my gang, Hu$tlin Honey$.
