Claire Sulmers The Bomb Life Book Recap

How could I not read The Bomb Life by the one and only Claire Sulmers?! Not only is she my daily inspiration and blogger goals, but also the guest speaker for this year, PHG Lifestyle Retreat in Iceland. Wait don’t tell me you didn’t know anything about our retreat taking place on Oct.19th-22nd? Girl where have you been? Click here for more information. Okay, back to the recap shall we.

Throughout The Bomb Life, Claire takes us on her journey on becoming the number one fashion blogger and building Fashion Bomb Daily from the ground up. Fashion Bomb Daily is the web's number one destination for multicultural fashion with 2.4 million monthly visits. I never realized how much work it takes to run a successful blog until I started The Professional Homegirl and I have to admit, this is the hardest I ever worked in my life. After reading Claire's book and realizing that she has been in the game for over ten years, I now understand that Rome wasn't built in a day. I love how Claire take us on her journey as she steps out on faith to pursue her dreams and no matter how challenging it was, she never gave up.

Claire was very honest and transparent about her experiences in the beginning especially when she moved to New York City and Paris. She talks about how her creativity was limited at her jobs which later fueled the birth of Fashion Bomb Daily. In my opinion, this section of the book was so important to read. I think alot of times we look at certain people and wished we had the life they live but we sometimes forget that it takes a lot in a person to get to a certain level of success. A lot as in patience, endurance, sacrifices, discipline and most importantly, faith. I mean it takes more, but those are the key ingredients. Would you have moved to Paris without knowing anyone and with little money? Better yet, would you have slept on a mattress on top of your bathtub? Claire definitely did and it is a testament that no matter how bad the situation gets, you always have to remember that things are working for you and not against you.

We all know that Claire has been in the same room with some of our favorite celebrities but no matter what, she always kept it professional. Sometimes people become so comfortable and boom like that, your chances of ever working with someone could be ruin in a matter of seconds. You never know who can put you in a position that can help grow your business to new heights, so always keep it classy and cute.

She also gives tips on the business of blogging and ways on how to monetize from it. There are so many ways to make money from blogging and every day I am just amazed at the endless opportunities that can come from blogging. From partnerships, advertising, events, and so on, there are so many ways to get to the bag and Claire discusses each and every one.

If you need some motivation that will encourage you to keep going, I strongly suggest you go and purchase The Bomb Life. After reading Claire's book, she definitely added some fuel to my fire and I can't wait to see what the blogging world has in store for me. To purchase her book, please click here
