Business: @Skinbyame ( www.skinbyame.com )

2. What do you do and what does a day of your work look like?

I am a full-time Master of Public Health Student, working at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and an entrepreneur - Owner/Founder of SkinByAme Natural Skincare. My work day consists of coursework, packaging, a post office run then off to work. It’s an exciting life, as hectic as it may sound!

3. What motivates you?

I draw motivation from everywhere, my family and my friends are particularly motivating. Strangers that are on the same journey also positively fuels me, but more than anything, I motivate myself.  The consistent drive to wake up every day and receive my blessings is what keeps me going.

4. How do you balance with your career, side hustles, and your social life?

Balance is key! Each part of my life may only get a piece of my time, but I make sure my experiences are full and it feels like 100%. I give my schoolwork my full focus when it is time, I dive into my business when it is time and my also my social life. It simply involves at times putting your phone down and living in the moment as well as being present and taking in all the energy around whatever it is you are doing.

5. What does Professional Homegirl mean to you?

Professional Homegirl to me is someone who has balance and cares for all aspects of her life: physically, emotionally and spiritually. The PHGirl knows how to handle business as well as how to handle herself and she’s overall very wholesome.

6. What advice would you give to young women that want to pursue their dreams?

My advice as cliché as it sounds is to remember that great things take time, it will not happen right away but if you work hard, never give up and keep manifesting- it will happen for you. I will leave you with my favorite Denzel Washington quote: “Without commitment, you'll never start, but more importantly, without consistency, you'll never finish”
